MEDECINS SANS FRONTIERES is an international, independent medical humanitarian organization today working in 60 countries. MSF offers assistance to populations affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare, based on need, irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.
The Supply Unit of the OCB (Operational Center Brussels) covers the entire supply chain management at international and local levels of the operations of MSF Belgium. As part of the OCB Supply Unit, MSF Supply is the procurement center of Médecins Sans Frontières Belgium which offers integrated logistic services to MSF missions on the field. MSF Supply also serves other humanitarian organizations. In 2016, almost 70,000 command lines were processed and 28,000 m³ of materials were dispatched to populations who were the victims of conflict and catastrophes in more than 50 countries.
Within MSF Supply, the purchase of goods (drugs, medical and non-medical equipment) and stock management are under the responsibility of the Purchasing Department including a Purchase service, Products service and a Procurement service.
The Products Service is composed of a multidisciplinary team of 9 persons (Pharmacists, medical and non-medical technicians ensuring the sourcing and quality assurance of products).
Within the wider MSF organization, the International Medical Coordination ensures the respect of the MSF Quality Assurance policy, as well as the prioritization and coherence of sourcing between the 5 operational centers and the three procurement centers.
Contexte et fonction
MSF Supply is looking for a Quality Assurance for vaccine portfolio.
Reporting to Product Coordinator, he/she works in close collaboration with the Procurement Officers and Purchasers responsible for the corresponding portfolio as well as other departments of the procurement centre, and in coordination with the product referents and section pharmacists and the International Medical Coordination.
This role is key to ensure the quality and the availability of the products sourced to be delivered to our programs on the field, at the same time as to ensure the quality of the information related to products across the whole chain.
Validate new articles-suppliers-manufacturers combinations to meet missions' needs, in respect of the international standards and MSF validation scheme,
Ensure the quality of information and technical documentation: create, update and control data related to items, suppliers-manufacturers and medical kits composition lists in collaboration with other Quality Assurance Responsibles ; Ensures the technical documentation is updated in accordance with regulation changes,
Provide technical support to the Customer Service and the missions whenever needed,
Controls and follows the quality of purchased products in relation with suppliers, the Quality Assurance Department and MSF Supply Operations, including non-conformities and product recalls,
Ensures contact with suppliers/manufacturers from a technical point of view and follow-up of manufacturers and product files.
Contribute to the definition of product catalog in collaboration with product referents, working groups and the International Technical Coordination,
At least 2 years of work experience in drugs domain, including significant experience in vaccines, and a certain extent with medical devise, in a supply center, an hospital pharmacy or in the supply chain of the medical industry.
Knowledge of drugs and vaccines, and to a certain extent of medical devices, regarding usage and quality validation
Experience with database and document management, search and analysis of technical information
Ability for teamwork and network, rigor and organisation, analytical mindset and capability to take initiatives, good communication, diplomatic and inter-personal skills
Very good knowledge of spoken and written French and English. Dutch is a plus.
Computer literate (MS Office, ERP,... ).
Work experience in humanitarian sector is a plus.
Conditions et contrat
We offer :
Contract for 4 months (possibly extended). Half time (50%) contract. Support of QA medical team
This position is open to give support to QA referent in charge of vaccine portofolio
Salary according to experience level + meal vouchers, hospitalization insurance, transport fee
